Food & TV
This week I have had a few ideas of what to write about and share with you, the beautiful reader. I thought about discussing the benefit of Core Training or maybe different training methods like MAF which I’ve touched on before. But with much consideration, it has to go back to my first love, food!

Improving Bike Fitness
As some of you might know, I’ve been out of training with a knee problem. But finally the Physio has given me the green light to test out my knee and after a short run and a cycle, I’ve come through unscathed (well, a few little niggles but I’m sure I’m just being hypersensitive) I gather as long as I take it easy and build up some strength slowly I should be fine.

Circuit Training
Next week is the start of my Circuit Training class. I have my checklist: the venue is booked, I’m insured up to the eyeballs (so please don’t trip and hurt yourself on purpose!) and I have a licence to play music - SO all I need now are some pupils!!

Ironman: The Beginning
Ironman….wait for it…140.3 miles - a 2.4 mile swim, followed by 112 miles on your bike and let’s not forget the small matter of running a marathon too, so that’s another 26 odd miles!!!
Now if you’re an elite athlete you can look at a sub 10 hour time… If you’re in great shape, you’re looking for a sub 12 hour time… and for everyone else, the aim is sub 17 hours (This is when they take down the finishing line, the flags and bunting - close up and go home.) No medal, no glory!

Trying to deal with my Injury
I’m lame, injured, broken! I’m no good - just throw me on the scrap pile with the other cripples. C’mon body, why aren’t you working?!
Ok, a little over the top I know, but I’m frustrated, angry at myself - all I want to do is run, run, run and run a little more.
I better explain before you think I’ve gone completely mad…

My First Bonk
I think this will disappoint you, this is not about the summer of ‘95 but rather a cold, wet day cycling around Sussex and Kent. I had signed up for the ‘Tour De Weald’ a 100 mile bike ride starting and finishing at Burgess Hill. The day didn’t start out well, missed my train at Victoria and my friends on it, this meant I would be riding solo. The weather was, wet, windy, cold everything you didn’t want. The course was empty and a lot of people had dropped out, out of pure luck I bumped into a couple of people I knew and off we went picking up another make it a group of four.

Porn Star Butt
Again it’s not what you think! After having a consultation with a client who wanted to work her bum and thighs more, I wanted to find some new and fun exercises. So a quick search on ‘youtube’ I found Scott Harman and his workout ‘How to get a Porn Star Butt and Hollywood Thighs’. I couldn’t help myself.

Muscle Adaptation with Aerobic Training
The body is an amazing thing, the more I learn about it the more I am astonished at the way it works and changes. You can spend hours looking at the skeletal system, the nervous system, circulation and respiration systems. Looking at the muscles of the body these are split into 3 types: Skeletal muscle, Smooth muscle and Cardiac muscle.
